Aiyaan Faisal

“Assessing the Impacts of Climate Change on Lake Winnipeg’s Evaporation Using Neural Network Models”

Winnipeg Schools – Manitoba

Climate change temperature increases could increase evaporation losses from water bodies which could impact lake ecosystems, irrigation, fisheries, hydropower generation, and more. Aiyaan’s study trained deep neural networks (DNNs) as a solution to modeling future evaporation rates. For Lake Winnipeg’s southern basin an increase of approximately 30% is expected by end of the century.
