“Ecoferroquatics: Novel Autonomous Plastic Cleanup Platform Integrating AI, Robotics and a Biocompatibility-Oriented Magnetic Suspension”
St. Bonaventure’s College, St. John’s Newfoundland
Ecoferroquatics is an autonomous aquatic robot designed to selectively remove plastic pollution from water using a custom ferrofluid-based collection system. By combining materials science, robotics, and computer vision, the project explores a smarter, more automated alternative to conventional cleanup methods. The goal is to improve plastic recovery while reducing manual labour and unintended harm to aquatic life.
